Edelweiss Lodge and Resort - Where we stayed!
We departed early Saturday morning, working our way South-East on the major Autobahns until we reached Munich. Then we started heading south. It took us about four and half hours to get to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where the Edelweiss Lodge is located. The Edelweiss Lodge is brand new and has only been open a couple of months. It is open to all military ID card holders, their dependants and most DA civilians and contractors. There was no snow on the ground when we left Kaiserslautern, but there sure was in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Snow is not measured there in inches, but in feet. We were able to check in early and as you can see by the pictures the lodge, room and pool were first class. We spent every night in the hot tub with snow falling on our heads. Boy did it feel good!
