The Ettal Abby and the Linderhof Palace
Today we decided to take a tour to the Linderhoff Palace offered by the Edelweiss Lodge since it was snowing pretty hard outside. We thought the tour only went to the palace and back, but it made stops in Ettal, to visit the Ettal Abby, and the small village of Oberammergau, known for it's hand carved wooden figurines and Germany's "Passion Play". The Passion Play opera is only presented every ten years and you must be a member of the community to be in the play. While in Oberammergau, we purchased a cuckoo clock for our fifth wedding anniversary. We had been looking at cuckoo clocks for a while and this one jumped out at us because it was so different than the other 100's that we have seen.
